Liverpool's Frogfest will expand to two stages in 2026 as organisers respond to growing demand for underground goth, EBM, darkwave and post-punk music.
The festival returns on 15 August, taking over District and Lost Art in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle for a twelve-hour celebration of alternative electronic and guitar-based underground culture. Organisers describe the event as Liverpool's only dedicated festival focused entirely on darkwave, goth, EBM, coldwave and post-punk music.
This year's line-up features an international mix of performers including Cosey Mueller, Mercy Girl, Jezebel, bloody/bath, Mouth Ulcers, SDH (Semiotics Department of Heteronyms), Pol, Die Verletzt, Those Holy, Static Palm, Tender Claws and Liminal Project. Artists from across the UK and mainland Europe will perform throughout the day and into the early hours.
Festival organisers say the event was created to connect Liverpool's thriving alternative scene with artists emerging from the wider European underground. The result is a programme that blends live performance, club culture and dark electronic music into a single event.
Tickets are currently priced from £35 and remain available through official outlets. With the event now expanding beyond its original format, Frogfest is rapidly establishing itself as one of the UK's most promising specialist festivals for fans of dark alternative music.
As interest in darkwave and post-punk continues to surge internationally, Frogfest's growth suggests Liverpool could be developing into an important hub for the UK's underground electronic scene.
